"BANKRUPTCY & SOCIAL JUSTICE - AN UNLIKELY UNION" by Ed Dyer

Ed Dyer will explore the relationship between his experiences in bankruptcy cases and the concept of social justice. He will relate bankruptcy to the wide and growing income gap, discuss the lack of health care coverage as a major reason people file bankruptcy, and show the social justice implications of changes in the bankruptcy laws prompted by the current credit crisis.

Ed, who grew up in a Unitarian congregation in his home town in Massachusetts, is graduate of the University of Massachusetts and the Boston University School of Law. He has practiced law for over 34 years in Montana, South Dakota, and North Dakota. He currently practices law with his wife, Anne E. Summers, also a member of our fellowship. He and Anne have two daughters and one grandson.
