North Dakota has a distinctive spiritual past, but where is North Dakota going in terms of spirituality? Where should we want to go and how do we get there? Clay Jenkinson will explore his vision for the spiritual future of North Dakota.

Clay is the Theo. Roosevelt Center Scholar at Dickinson State College and Distinguished Scholar of Humanities at Bismarck State College.

On this day many of our neighbors celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, a belief that has become the central tenant of the Christian Church. How can we as Unitarian Universalists relate to the resurrection? Or are there many resurrections for us to consider.

Pat Conrad is a long time member of this congregation and is currently a member of the Board of Trustees.

There will be no Sunday school or childcare. Children are welcome and will join the short program and brunch.

Shadd plans to read poems that he finds spiritual in a variety of ways and from a variety of poets – George Herbert, Emily Dickinson, Walt Whitman, Kenneth Rexroth, Larry Woiwode and perhaps a few more.

Shadd is an associate poet laureate for the state of North Dakota, He is a poet and songwriter whose day job is as an English and humanities instructor at Rasmussen College in Bismarck.

Death, the dread specter, was embraced by the ancient philosophers as the key to life and living well. Jay Basquiat will consider their views in relation to our modern anxieties about death, seeking that integration and acceptance of death as the philosophical source of a fuller, richer life here and now. Jay teaches philosophy at Bismarck State College and operates Baskets of Plenty Community Supported Agriculture for the Bismarck-Mandan area.
