Dean Conrad, a retired auditor with Basin Electric, is married to Pat and has been active in the church for many years. He and his wife have been the catalysts behind the satay sales at the street fairs. Both have represented UU’s on national youth delegations and have held various positions within our congregation.

Chuck Suchy is one of the foremost musical voices of the American Great Plains. He is a working farmer, born and raised and at home in the blue hills along the Missouri River south of Mandan. His ballads and songs are unique - sensitive and honest portrayals of contem-porary American farm life - but from an insider's point of view. Bill Neumann, a North Dakota Supreme Court Justice from 1993 to 2005, will present an overview on how justice is being served in North Dakota. He graduated from the University of North Dakota and Stanford Law School. He is currently the Executive Director of the North Dakota State Bar Association and is involved with the Joint Alternative Dispute Resolutions Committee.

Ed Dyer will explore the relationship between his experiences in bankruptcy cases and the concept of social justice. He will relate bankruptcy to the wide and growing income gap, discuss the lack of health care coverage as a major reason people file bankruptcy, and show the social justice implications of changes in the bankruptcy laws prompted by the current credit crisis.

“TRIBAL COLLEGES: THE BEST KEPT SECRET IN EDUCATION”
Ronya Hoblit

Ronya will discuss the visions and philosophy of tribal colleges, how they began, and their effect on Native American society. Ronya has been involved in tribal colleges since the fall, 1995, first as a student and now as she continues to take classes and is a career counselor at Sitting Bull College. Ronya received her Masters degree from the University of Montana in 2008.

This is the snow-call for her program that was canceled in December due to a blizzard.
