Betty will close out our regular service year sharing her Search, from Ralph Waldo Emerson to the penitentiary, from a traveler's perspective.
Betty is a charter member of the Fellowship, has served on the Prairie Star District Unitarian-Universalist Board and on the national board and is currently secretary of the Fellowship and chair of the library committee.

The Senior Youth Fellowship with Teri Evenson had a busy year from delving into issues to having some really good times together.
One of the highlights of the year was discussion about whether or not there is such a thing as a "just war". The youth will share their thoughts on this and other highlights of the year.

A Compassionate (Non-Violent) Communication workshop will be held on May 4th, from 1:30 to 3:30 pm at the Fellowship.
This training is based on the work of Marshall Rosenberg and can help you transform judgment and criticism into understanding and connection; break patterns of thinking that lead to arguments, anger and depression; resolve conflict peacefully, whether personal or public, domestic or international; reduce stress in the workplace and improve productivity; develop relationships based upon mutual respect, compassion, and cooperation.

Jeff Evenson has been monitoring a North Korean Defector’s web site for the past two years. He will speak on the ethical and moral implications facing UUs and our nation with Kim Jung II ‘s (North Korean’s Dictator) Army 1st policy. A brief history will be given on the two clans of ancient Korea, Korean War and the famine of 1992-1994. Jeff will also address human right’s abuses in the prison camps with political dissents and their families. Discussion to follow.

Mary Louise Defender Wilson
Mary Louise Defender Wilson is an historian/story teller of Native American history from Shields, ND. Most of her historic artifacts were destroyed by fire a couple of summers ago, but she maintains a positive outlook and continues to tell the stories that need to be told about the original residents of the plains.
Mary Louise has been warmly received by our congregation several times in the past.

“COMING HOME TO COMMUNITY”
Dr. Larry Skogen
Dr. Larry C. Skogen, president of Bismarck State College, North Dakota native, and world traveler, will discuss how the arc of his life brought him home. His belief that a college can build bridges with and within the local community as well as the global community is part of his vision for the future and will be featured in his presentation.
Retired from a career in the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Skogen most recently served as Academic Dean at New Mexico Military Institute, Roswell. He is a native of Hettinger, N.D.
